Position Overview: The Chambersburg Memorial YMCA is seeking dedicated, caring, and professional bus drivers to transport youth for various programs including Before and After School, gym and aquatic programs, and field trips. Drivers are responsible for safely transporting the children in accordance with PA Department of Motor Vehicle Regulations.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma is required.
• Experience working with children and youth is preferred.
• Current CDL (Commercial Drivers License) with School Bus and Passenger endorsements

Successful candidates must obtain 3 clearances (Child Abuse, Criminal Background, and FBI), two written references, and a current physical with TB test.

We are looking for an efficient, focused, safety-minded individual to lead our auction acquisitions team. We have a full time, long term position available. Applicants should have management experience as well as extensive knowledge or packing, loading and unloading trucks, moving furniture and other personal property and have access to reliable transportation. Individuals with live auction experience are in especially high demand. We offer paid time off, health benefits and competitive pay. The ideal candidate will be capable of leading a team, communicating effectively and working with management to accomplish company goals.

Essential job functions:

The mover / driver leads performs a variety of tasks related to moving customers’ personal possessions as well as performing supervisory tasks.

Communicate company goals to team members
Monitor assignments
Analyzes problem situations in depth; uses good judgment, discretion, and independence.
Juggles several tasks simultaneously, and prioritizes and completes work assignments.
Provides documentation in a clear, concise manner (e.g., notes, memos, letters, reports, etc.)
Communicates effectively with management
Maintains written records and log books
Performs written work order requisitions
Experienced and qualified to drive a large truck, both locally and occasionally for long distances.
Proficient with tools and able to disconnect and reconnect furniture and simple electronics.
Able to efficiently and carefully move all types of household furniture, cabinets, appliances, office equipment
Lift heavy loads up to 80 lbs on a regular basis
Trains and shows proficiency in using proper lifting techniques and body mechanic skills.
Maintains the truck in good condition are directed:
Takes the truck for its regular scheduled maintenance.
Keeps the cab and bed clean and free of trash.
Keeps the truck in a clean outside appearance.
Repairs, cleans, lubricates, and stores equipment, tools, and fixtures.
Cleans and maintains the storage building as assigned.
Performs preventive maintenance as assigned.
Directs team members regarding approaches to specifics maintenance or repair problems.
Unloads trucks, receives merchandise, and places that merchandise in a neat and orderly manner in assigned storage areas.
Directs supplies/equipment pick-ups
Assigns inventory and supply distribution processes
In performance of assigned job duties, interacts with customers in a cheerful / positive manner and is respectful of the customer’s personal belongings and uses good judgment in working with customers
Works closely with management to organize items for auction
Perform set-up and clean-up tasks
Function as a floor runner on auction day
Perform general maintenance of company-associated facilities, grounds and equipment using company tools and equipment
Provide Labor support as needed
Performs other related duties

Physical requirements for the completion of the job include:

Ability to perform physical labor that requires bending, twisting, stretching, crouching, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, pushing, pulling, and lifting and carrying objects, with routine reaching / lifting of the arms over the head to access shelving, storage racks, or other high areas and lift objects.
Standing and walking for extending periods of time, with ability to move adequately through all areas of the customers house or business – includes walking over rough and uneven surfaces.
Dexterity of hands and fingers required to manipulate objects and use various types of maintenance equipment and tools.
Ability to see and hear within normal parameters.
Physical stamina to lift, pull, carry, or move light to heavy objects as required to perform job duties (i.e. bulk supplies, mechanical parts, and other merchandise – packaged in boxes, plastic containers, or other packaging; customers furniture and other small to large appliances; mowing equipment; mechanical / gardening tools of all sizes; ladders; lifting mechanisms)
When lifting, employee must follow standard safety / ergonomic precautions and applicable facility procedures at all times and secure assistance and/or use of an approved lifting device when necessary; and may be subject to extreme variances in temperature, hazardous conditions, and inclement weather in the performance or duties.

FT Perishable Order Selector

 

Responsible for performing distribution center shipping/receiving functions and be an essential part of moving product accurately and safely throughout the Distribution Center.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

 

•Perform any shipping and receiving task that may be assigned by supervisor or appropriate designee)

•Complete all documents related to shipping and or receiving tasks assigned

•Select and palletize grocery, produce, meat, frozen food and dairy orders for shipment to retail stores accurately

•Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner

•Perform pre-operational check of pallet jacks or forklifts according to company policy

•Follow good sanitation practices; keep work area clean and free of debris

•Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work group or distribution center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs

Preferred Qualification:

•High School Education or equivalent

•Certified on a powered industrial equipment where applicable

•Familiarity/experience in a distribution environment

 

Skills:

•Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and problem identification/solving skills with the ability to read and write English and demonstrate basic numerical skills

•Demonstrated dedication to safety, with a history of working well with others and contributing to a team effort

•Considerable strength and endurance are required to safely and successfully perform these jobs. These strength and endurance demands are due to the weight of the merchandise and the frequency handled. •Capable of being trained on mechanized material handling equipment

Warehouse Worker
· Safely and efficiently handle and move merchandise using power equipment as needed.
· Receive and unload cartons or pallets from trailers.
· Maintain carton count accuracy in the warehouse.
· Unload cartons from electric conveyor and stack onto trailer.

Salary based on experience. $29,000 – $35,000 per year

Hiring for:   on-call, part-time substitute driver and/or aide for our morning/afternoon routes.  Person would be responsible to cover vacations, illnesses, and/or staff out on medical leave.  Staff will be assigned as an aide for a Morning route 2 days per week in Shippensburg to maintain hours and training requirements.
