Our Abatement Technicians and Supervisors perform the removal or stabilization of mold, asbestos, lead, and other indoor environmental contaminants. In many cases they also perform the rebuild to bring the property to a healthy and occupiable state.
Our Abatement Technicians and Supervisors are trained to perform the removal or stabilization of mold, asbestos, lead, and other indoor environmental contaminants in such a way as to protect themselves, their team mates, the building occupants, and the community. In many cases they also perform the rebuild to bring the property to a healthy and occupiable state. Most technicians are cross-trained to also assist our Basement Water-control Division, our HVAC Duct Cleaning Division, and our Renovations Division.
Abatement Technicians carry out a variety of physical tasks necessary on building sites. They help to clear out debris from structures under construction or being torn down, unload and carry building materials to appropriate locations on the site, position and secure materials within structures, and operate heavy and light equipment. Abatement Technicians work directly under the supervision of their Foreman and Project Manager and are required to follow the building plans created by the Project Managers.
Our Abatement Technicians work on a array of building sites including residential buildings; commercial buildings; demolition projects, and waste removal. They operate efficiently with safety in mind. They are great at following directions and are respectful to their supervisors, clients, and team mates.
Responsibilities and duties required of this position include (but are not limited to):
Loading and unloading of equipment and supplies
Building containments prior to the removal of indoor environmental contaminants
Cleaning up and disposing of contaminants as instructed
Demolition or partial removal of building components
Following all federal, state and local regulations and laws associated with the work being performed
Follow all established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment
Being respectful and professional with their follow workers, supervisors, clients, and the community
Basic knowledge of every carpentry and construction tools
Ability to physically complete all tasks as assigned
Willing to follow instructions and perform all tasks as assigned
RELIABLE & DEPENDABLE
MUST possess a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
Willing to travel to project sites daily and to training/certification courses after successful completion of probationary period
Must pass pre-employment drug screen, remain drug-free and submit to random screening
The ideal candidates will work with minimal oversight but willing to follow directions closely. Additionally, he or she should be familiar with construction industry safety standards and procedures to ensure project security.
